I am not one to miss class often, does anyone have suggestions for getting out (at least some) of the time commitment of classes while still getting the information? Right now I tend to learn best by listening to the teacher, even if I am not giving my full attention.
Personally, I only attended about 40% of my classes this past semester. However, I probably learned more than any other time at school. This was all due to my personal interest and the research done on behalf of my startup EndlessRoom. I feel that the key to learning anything is just how personally interested you are. So, if you are not interested in the way a teacher teaches, or what they are teaching, then going to the class is pointless. I say, follow your passion - whether that leads you to the classroom, library, laptop or a tree in the middle of a forest to meditate under.
I couldn't reach endlessroom.com by clicking on your link. All it said was this:

make sure you learn the material well during class. ask questions after class? one of my friends that makes notecards for studying. she don't copy note, but they make notecards during class. I feel like that is the only way to ensure efficiency in learning.
